About Emergency Management

The University of Central Florida Office of Emergency Management (UCF OEM) prepares the University for responding to, recovering from, and mitigating against any natural or manmade disaster and/or crisis. We strive to protect the well being of UCF students, faculty, staff, and guests.

UCF's Office of Emergency Management is responsible for the following:

  • Develop and maintain the UCF Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP)
  • Develop, plan, and evaluate emergency exercises
  • Emergency Operations Center Management
  • Provide training for individuals that have emergency management roles and responsibilities
  • Provide the university with preparedness information
  • Homeland Security responsibilities include:
    • Threat Assessments
    • Vulnerability Assessments
    • Force Protection
    • Antiterrorism
  • Security Management responsibilities include:
    • Assessments and recommendations for:
      • Closed circuit television cameras
      • Access Control
      • Emergency Notification Systems
  • Act as the UCF liaison for local, state, and federal emergency responders and agencies.
